On 31 March, the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE), on behalf of PromethEUs, organised a private, virtual event to initiate discussions and exchange of views amongst stakeholders from the Southern European countries of Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain regarding the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
During the event, which was held under Chatham House rules, the think tanks’ representatives, through a policy analysis perspective, presented their respective Recovery and Resilience Plans, focusing on the digital transition.
The event organised within the context of the joint paper that PromethEUs is drawing up on the EU RRF and the National Recovery and Resilience Plans and the Digital Uptake, was divided into two panels. While the first panel addressed the role and impact of the plans in the digital transformation in Southern Europe, the second considered the role of the business sector as a catalyst for digital growth within Europe. Included in the stakeholders that participated in the event, there were representatives from public administrations, academia, private companies and industry associations.
