PromethEUs Conference – AI and the future of EU competitiveness: the road ahead

On Tuesday 14th of November, the Institute for Competitiveness (I-Com) hosted – on behalf of the network – a hybrid conference to discuss the latest developments of the upcoming European Union AI Act ahead of the agreement that negotiators aim to secure by the end of this year.

As trilogues reached their final stage – with two additional rounds of negotiations planned for November – some divisive subjects remained (the use of copyrighted content by AI, and biometric surveillance). At the same time, the conversation shed light on the latest technological developments and the rapid evolution of the regulatory debate in other countries such as the U.S.

The PromethEUs joint paper on Artificial Intelligence was launched at this event.
